Motorola Edge 60 Pro Review

Motorola Edge 60 Pro Review: A Premium MidRange Contender

Motorola’s latest flagship, the Edge 60 Pro, is here—and it’s a sleek, powerful, and surprisingly affordable alternative to pricier rivals like the Poco F7 Ultra, Oppo Reno 13 Pro, and iPhone 16. Priced at £600 in the UK (or less if you find a deal), this phone packs long battery life, AI smarts, and a stunning display—all wrapped in a skinny, pocket-friendly design. After a week of testing, here’s my full review.

Motorola’s latest flagship, the Edge 60 Pro

Design & Build: Slim, Light, and Stylish

Design & Build Motorola Edge 60 Pro

  • Ultrathin profile (not quite as slender as the Galaxy S25 Edge, but close)
  • Curved edges for a comfortable grip
  • Soft-touch matte back (resists fingerprints)
  • Three color options:
    • Dazzling Blue (our review unit)

    • Sparkling Grape (purple)

    • Shadow (understated black)

Pros:

  • IP68/IP69 rating (water and dust-resistant)

  • Military-grade durability (survives drops, extreme temps, and vibrations)

  • Almost flat camera bump (barely noticeable)

Cons:

  • Plastic frame (not metal, but forgivable given the thinness)

  • No pre-installed screen protector (but Gorilla Glass holds up well)

First Impression:

  • Smells like perfume out of the box (yes, really—though it fades).

  • Feels premium despite the plastic edges.

Display: Bright, Smooth, but Missing Always-On

Display Bright, Smooth Motorola Edge 60 Pro

  • 6.67" pOLED panel (1220p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate)

  • Vivid colors (PANTONE-validated, but adjustable)

  • Extremely bright (great for outdoor use)

Pros:

  • Crisp visuals (even at max brightness)

  • 720Hz PWM dimming (reduces flicker for sensitive eyes)

  • Works when wet (responsive even with water droplets)

Cons:

  • No LTPO tech (so no adaptive refresh rate)

  • No always-on display (you have to tap to wake)

  • Netflix HDR issues (currently limited to SD on our review unit—hopefully fixed at launch)

Performance & Battery: MediaTek Powerhouse

  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme

  • RAM: 12GB

  • Storage: 512GB (no microSD slot)

Gaming & Daily Use

  • Handles most games smoothly (e.g., Genshin Impact at medium settings)

  • Gets warm but never scorching

  • Not for hardcore gamers (Poco F7 Ultra is better for maxed-out graphics)

Battery Life: A Beast

  • 6,000mAh battery (lasts 1.5–2 days with moderate use)

  • 90W wired charging (10 mins = full day’s charge)

  • 15W wireless charging

Verdict:

  • Best-in-class endurance

  • Fast charging makes it hard to run out of juice

Cameras: Solid but Not Flagship-Level

Cameras Solid but Not Flagship Motorola Edge 60 Pro

Main Camera (50MP, Sony LYT700C):

✅ Natural-looking photos (not overprocessed)
✅ Good portrait mode (edge detection works well)
❌ Struggles in low light (some detail loss)

UltraWide (50MP) & Macro:

✅ Decent for landscapes
❌ Macro mode is average (can’t focus too close)

Main Camera 50MP Motorola Edge 60 Pro

Telephoto (10MP, 3x Optical Zoom):

✅ Great for portraits (no need to crowd subjects)
❌ Digital zoom gets noisy fast (avoid 50x)

Video: A Letdown:

  • 4K @ 30fps max (no 60fps option unless you drop to 1080p)

  • Stabilization is okay, not great

Selfie Cam (50MP):

  • Good detail but also limited to 4K/30fps

Software: Clean Android with AI Tricks

  • OS: Android 15 (with Moto’s light tweaks)

  • Update Policy: 3 OS updates, 4 years of security patches (worse than Samsung/Google)

Moto AI Features

  • "Remember This" – Saves screenshots for quick recall (menus, flight details, etc.)

  • "Catch Me Up" – Summarizes unread group chats

  • Decent voice assistant (better than Siri, worse than Google Assistant)

Extra Features:

  • Gaming mode (basic but functional)

  • Gesture controls (chop for flashlight, twist for camera)

  • Some bloatware (Facebook, LinkedIn, random games—but not as bad as Xiaomi)

Final Verdict: Who Should Buy It?

✅ Get the Edge 60 Pro if you want:

  • A sleek, lightweight phone

  • Incredible battery life

  • Clean software with useful AI

❌ Avoid if you need:

  • Top-tier gaming performance

  • Pro-level video recording (4K/60fps)

  • Long-term software support (5+ years)

Alternatives:

  • Motorola Edge 60 Fusion (cheaper, similar design)

  • Nothing Phone 3A Pro (unique style, clean OS)

  • OnePlus Nord (better for gaming)

Rating: 8.5/10 – A great all-rounder with a few quirks.
